On this stormy day, I want to share a lovely poem with all of you. Listen to this beautiful phrase:

“….in the dense forest of your life….wait there patiently, until the song
that is your life falls into your own cupped hands and you recognize and greet it.”

Perhaps this weekend, we may have some time for reflection and self care as we hunker down and stay close to home. We take loving care of ourselves before giving ourselves to the world. In one of our meditations in the Reiki classes that I teach, are the words, We fill up, and then pour our resources to the world.

Perhaps this storm will give us some down time to be gentle with ourselves and practice some loving kindness to our beloved selves. Maybe we can make some space in the density of life and the song of our life will fall into our cupped hands. As you would hold, comfort and cradle a child, a beloved pet or a dear friend in times of stress, hold yourself tenderly, be there for yourself, listen to the song in your heart. You are your own beloved.

Stay safe and take loving care in this storm. It will pass, as do all the storms of life.

Thank you to the dear one who sent me this poem.

Clearing

Do not try to save
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create a clearing
in the dense forest of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself
to this world
so worthy of rescue.
