Hon Sha Za Sho Nen….the Divine within me recognizes the Divine within you….(a Reiki greeting that carries the same meaning as Namaste)…..

I was walking this morning on the greenway in our development in the cool, moist morning…..a welcome relief from summer’s heat.  Coolness that is evidence of the waning summer season as we are fully into the doyo, that three week period before and after the change of season. During the doyo, energies are in flux, as the expansive yang of summer begins to wind down and contract, and we get ready for the yin of Autumn and its restructuring, reorganizing energies. Brown and yellow leaves are already littering the path. The trees are contracting their energies into their core and no longer nourishing the leaves.  This is what we do in the Fall time, as we harvest what we have grown in summer, we bring in our energies, sort though what we want to keep and store, and decide what is best to let go.  In Autumn, we let go, let come. We make room for more good, more than we can imagine.

I felt this letting go this morning, this emptying, clearing, lightening as I walked under the canopy of trees.  And then gratitude rushed in…..I was so grateful for all the healing I’ve had in the last 2-1/2 years and on my lifelong journey, grateful for a healthy body, my spiritual path, all my teachers and guides, my loving family and friends, my beautiful home; grateful that we were guided to move to North Carolina, grateful that I can feel gratitude. I am grateful I can, at long last, feel compassion for me. And I am grateful I know that I am Love, as are you. And I am grateful for all of you.

Thanksgiving can be in November….or every day.
