Fall arrives today, Friday, September 22, 2017 at 4:02 pm EDT. Fall is a time to gather, to harvest what we have grown, understood and resolved during the summer. As the energy begins to contract in the yin of Autumn, we keep what will sustain us in the coming quieter, darker, time of hibernation and re-nourishment, and let go what no longer serves us.

In Chinese Medicine, Fall is thought of as the time of letting go, and making room to let come what we need to sustain us through the next seasons of yin, before the yang of Spring. It is the time of the Metal Element, restructuring, tearing down what doesn’t support us, so our new, stronger infrastructure can begin to be planned and eventually built.

I love Fall and Winter. I love the internal times. Today is a perfect time to simply affirm: I let go of whatever I need to release. I make room to receive whatever is for my highest good.

We let go, we let come. We don’t have to worry about the how, or the details. We will be guided as to what our part is. We stay willing. We trust.

Louise Hay died on August 30 at the age of 90. She was a Master Metaphysician and her books are a mainstay of modern metaphysics. I first read her “I Love Myself” prayer/affirmation over 30 years ago. I have read this and given it out countless times. It always moves me and touches my heart. Here is the last part of it:

I love myself; therefore I forgive and totally release
the past and all past experiences and I am free.

I love myself; therefore I live totally in the now,
experiencing each moment as good and knowing that
my future is bright and joyous and secure,
for I am a beloved child of the Universe
and the Universe lovingly takes care of me
now and forever more.

And so it is.

Oceans of Love & Light,
