Hon Sha Za Sho Nen (a Reiki greeting meaning, the Divine within me recognizes the Divine within you)….

I was walking on our Greenway this morning inhaling the intoxicating scent of the honeysuckle and ran into a lovely friend walking her lovely dog.  We exchanged news and pleasantries about friends and blessings……and blessings in disguise. We briefly talked about family and how everyone is now, and talked about the changes everyone is going through. We circled back to no matter how things change, life is still good in this moment: that in this very moment there is something to feel grateful for, something about which to circulate good feeling. When we make the choice to really sink into this present moment, we can ask, is everything all right this immediate moment? In this right now moment, we can say everything good in this tiny space, this little sliver of now. Even with life swirling all around us.

We always have a choice no matter what we are thinking about or how we are thinking. One Buddhist teacher says that one way to embrace what is actually happening in life is simply to say, oh, this is what is happening now!  Whether we are trying to lose weight or deal with anxiety or things are falling apart…. at some point we make a choice to notice life is happening but what is really happening right now? Am I OK? We do this over and over and over again. Louise Hay says the power is in the present moment. That’s where we notice and make a choice. And what is the choice? Whatever feels most loving to us, whatever will kindly and tenderly take care of us. It takes practice. Human life gives us lots of practice!
We take a breath, we make a loving choice.  Here is a short meditation I prepared for you about making a loving choice:
We do this until we build up those gossamer layers of good feeling and crest over the 51% threshold of good feeling.  We may not even know how close to the 51% we are….until we realize life feels better, and even good, no matter what  is happening.
